Hello, my name is Stephen Kastner. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) who specializes in Career Counseling. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), the National Career Development Association (NCDA), and the Maryland Career Development Association (MCDA). I have a Master of Arts, MA, in Community Counseling from The George Washington University and a Master of Science, MS, in Exercise Science from The George Washington University.  

What all of this means is that I take my work very seriously. I stay current in the field and am continuously updating my skills to provide you with the best advice and service possible.

I Too, Changed Careers

I too, know what it is like to not only change jobs but to change paths during my career. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and worked in the field for for seven years. I loved it! I worked in hospitals, corporate fitness centers and with the police department. I enjoyed it so much that I went back to school for a Masters Degree in the field. During those two years I became very much interested in the mind body relationship and decided to become just as competent in the Mental Health Field. During my education and training as a Counselor I became very interested in how important our careers are to us and how my abilities can help others find the enjoyment and satisfaction I have found.

I have offices located in Chevy Chase Maryland, just a short walk from the Friendship Heights Metro Station and Silver Spring Maryland, two blocks from the Silver Spring Metro.
